'Why was Brain & Mind Australia formed?'

This organization has been formed to promote dialogue between researchers in basic neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, genetics and mental illness.

The belief is that clinical depression, substance abuse, schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder will only be ameliorated if advantage is taken of the revolution in the brain sciences provided by the completion of The Human Genome Project and new non-invasive imaging techniques.

This calls for disregarding the old 19th Century discipline boundaries and the development of an holistic research approach - which we have called 'Brain & Mind Science'.
